Tonga Update :)

So very happy to be here in Tonga! 

After arriving to the Lodge from the airport - took, what turned out to be, a private tour around the island. It was supposed to be just half a day cause I could only join in the afternoon, and only see a few of the landmarks - but minus the town - which I will do this morning, my gracious guide was able to take me everywhere, complete with sunset over the blowholes! 😃

I’m going to be cheesy - I’m dubbing this island the Magic Kingdom - no Disney you’re not allowed to have a copyright on that! The people, the sights and the general atmosphere here is near surreal. I mean it is the one place on earth that was never conquered. The history goes back to 2000BC and the people on the island now are still somehow descendants from them. I’ll have more about the specifics about the island in my next post. Can't upload much due to the wifi speed and quota I have at the moment. 

Before I forget - Just posted the detailed account of my horrendous UNITED experience. It’s not that UNITED was delayed out of Newark and missed the connecting flight that made the experience bad -it’s travel we know shit happens and we all expect that they’ll be dealt with appropriately when they do. The key word here is “appropriately” and how UNITED handled any part of this was anything but for the entire 30 hours that we were in contact. There was good that came out of all this of course. 😃 A group of 8 of us met due to the entire accommodation mess up. Serious friendships found from around the world. We all kept high spirits and stayed as positive as possible and everybody was absolutely amazing! 😉 I have no doubt that we will be staying in touch and meeting again. So blessed to have met you, even under those circumstances - hope you're all having a great time in the land of OZ, Auckland and Hawaii!
